Do we use the Mckenzie Method?

Yes, we utilize the McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® in many of our treatments. It is an internationally researched system of assessment and management for spinal and extremity musculoskeletal disorders. It is used all over the world and here at Innovative Physical Therapy.

What should I wear to PT?

It’s best to wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
If you have knee or ankle pain then shorts or pants you can roll up is always best.
For shoulder pain, we would recommend wearing a tank top or shirt where the sleeves can roll up

How many times a week do I need to come?

This varies by case. Sometimes your doctor will recommend a certain number of sessions per week and sometimes they let the therapist decide.
After we perform an evaluation, we can determine how many sessions/week is appropriate for you to achieve your goals.

Do we have one-on-one therapy?

Yes, we specialize in one-on-one patient centered physical therapy.

How long is a session?

Around 60 min.

Are home exercises important?

Absolutely!! The key to your success is being consistent with your home exercises. We need to consistently perform the exercises that target the needed muscles and/or movements that address your pain to get a long-lasting effect. If you skip this crucial step then you may not progress as quickly and our goal is to get you pain-free as quick as possible.

What happens in a PT session?

A typical PT evaluation will start with an interview to get more information about the symptoms you’re experiencing. This will include the history of how/when your symptoms started, common activities or positions that cause your symptoms to get worse, activities or positions that make your symptoms better, as well as activities that you can’t do or are difficult to do because of your symptoms.
